Aidan Baker records an album, loses the master, re-records it, finds the master, then releases both as Dualism

Aidan Baker is kind of a compulsive dude; one glance at his discography will confirm that. So when the prolific drone artist was all set to release an album called Dualism, his first solo record with Midira Records, somehow the master tapes went missing. But he didn’t sit around and wait for them to turn up. He went straight back to the studio and re-recorded the whole album.

But by some freaky circumstance, after Baker re-recorded the album for the second time, the original tapes resurfaced. This presented a new dilemma: which of his babies would be spared?

The answer is none, because Midira is releasing Dualism as a double album containing both sessions. Kind of adds a whole other layer to the duality theme of the record too. Genius.

You can sample some tracks now or get the whole double-headed drone serpent treatment via Midira Records, where the first 50 orders get an extra special third disc which features the track “Consciousness Bridge” from both sessions mixed together.
