Superwoman Alice Glass (seriously, her Wikipedia page lists the multiple injuries and illnesses she’s conquered over the course of her career) announced that she is leaving Crystal Castles, effectively ending the two-person band.
Glass is leaving the group because of “a multitude of reasons both professional and personal,” she wrote in a Facebook post earlier today.
She joined forces with Ethan Kath, the other member of the duo, in 2005. Kath originally started Crystal Castles as a solo project, but began collaborating with Glass after he saw her performing with her all-girl group, Fetus Fatale. Together, they released three albums (titled, simply, I, II, and III).
Glass added to her Facebook announcement by asking her fans to “embrace [her] as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.”
