We saw it coming earlier this year, and now, at long last, Xiu Xiu have announced details of their new studio album. Titled FORGET, the album is said to be Xiu Xiu’s “most direct engagement with pop music to date,” and features the current lineup of Jamie Stewart, Shayna Dunkelman, and Angela Seo performing alongside guest artists Charlemagne Palestine, Enyce Smith, Kristof Hahn (Swans), and drag artist Vaginal Davis. It’s out February 24 on Polyvinyl.
That’s important news. This is more important: for the next three months, Xiu Xiu are donating and matching any purchases made from their Bandcamp page to the efforts at Standing Rock. Available releases include Stewart’s excellent collaboration with Lawrence English as HEXA, a long-overdue reissue of Fag Patrol, music from a recent installation at the Laguna Art Museum, and many, many more.
