Twin Peaks music supervisor releases the show's "unofficial ambient score" on Sacred Bones
"Wow, this coffee is damn splendid. Thanks!" <-- still my favorite line of the show

SHOWTIME® just sent us the remaining episodes of the new Twin Peaks series, and — spoiler alert — it’s going to be CRAZY! Here’s a little taste of what to expect: Mr.

Annie Hart Impossible Accomplice

[Uninhabitable Mansions; 2017]

Rating: 3.5/5

Styles: synth pop, dream pop, sadcore, chamber pop
Others: School of Seven Bells, Air, Nite Jewel, M83, Beach House

There is a rigid yet tensile placidity to metronomically-driven, clear-eyed, sorrow-imbued post-new wave sounds. The gait is nondescript but throws on with a brisk ineffability. It’s the sort of spell-casting that lends itself to the pounding uncertain tension of endless purgatory that we all inevitably find ourselves in on one end or the other of a dizzyingly vast, tangled spectrum. Hovering at the lip is a lot of fast and heavy weight. In the motion blur is an ecstatic, elusive sliver of fulfillment.

Destroyer's Dan Bejar wants you to "ken" that his band has a new album coming out in October
Come on, admit it: this is pretty much how you always dreamed Dan Bejar's next press photo would look like.

Destroyer, the ever-mutating Canadian outfit fronted by former New Pornographers member and songwriter extraordinaire Dan Bejar, have announced their eleventh studio LP. Ken is coming out on October 20 via Merge, and is ushered now by a video for a new song, “Sky’s Grey.”

Bérangère Maximin Frozen Refrains

[Atlas Realisations; 2017]

Styles: musique concrète, electroacoustic
Others: Fred Frith, John Zorn, Fennesz

A few months ago, I was totally blissed out in the train station, toggling around on my phone, scrolling for nothing and nobody. Drag up, side swipe, drop down. The same five apps in a cyclic sort of motion, as though something on that screen was gonna change. Waiting for one of those trains that might never come at all, my mind had drifted beyond indifference into a stupefied habit-state in which I actually preferred that the train wasn’t coming. Better just to stand there, emotionless, more time for me to scroll, my neck bent over like I was fucking praying.

Macintosh Plus's quintessential vaporwave release Floral Shoppe is being issued on vinyl

Are you alone? Have you cleared your cache?

We at TMT Corp ask that you sit down, because this is the news story you’ve been waiting for your whole life.

On September 25, Olde English Spelling Bee will release a vinyl edition of Macintosh Plus’s landmark vaporwave album, Floral Shoppe. The album, created by Ramona Vektroid, was begging for a re-release, as its original cassette version — issued in December 2011 on Beer On The Rug — has been sold on Discogs for ridiculous, Eccojams-like sums.

Akira Rabelais and Boomkat reissue Spellewauerynsherde (bless you!) on vinyl for the first time

Oh no, it’s not hyperbole, dear readers of Boomkat’s laudatory album description; I’d even remove the “arguably” from their claim that Spellewauerynsherde is “one of the 21st century’s most enigmatic and haunting albums,” because there’s precisely zero doubt among objective judges who’ve had the chance to experience this 2004 effort through other mediums already.

Pan Daijing Lack 惊蛰

[PAN; 2017]

Styles: atomism, unformed noise logic
Others: Félicia Atkinson, Lotic, Pharmakon

The culture of noise music is a strangely static entity considering the ambiguity of what noise truly means. Often represented in blacks and whites, either violent obliteration or soothing ambience, the concept of an overpowering and all-absorbing noise ignores how sound actually slithers into our perception of the surrounding world.
