Computer Slime Sticky Keys

[Self-Released; 2019]

Rating: 3.5/5

Styles: ya want more than “juke/footwork,” “juke/footwork” is all ya get, #00FF00
Others: sometimes you wish Björk sounded like this, the FBI said American conspiracy is the #1 cause of domestic terrorism, when we get Björk #2 as Illuminati lizard-clone, tho?

i don’t even have fucking cool air conditioning in my apartment, and Mr P is a son-of-a-shit. he has complete curator control over this website, you know? (btw, i’m tryna stop saying “right?” and “you know?” at the end of my sentences, because it sounds pretentious.) Mr P took Computer Slime’s Sticky Keys Choco from me on July 29. “Como ceviche de clear-goo’ y/o ‘translucent-slime?’” Fuck the stress and anxiety in all my IRL shit, but THIS????? kkkkkkkkkkok

Producer/composer Velf dismounts her sherbet unicorn in order to announce new album in a sense on Orange Milk

I’ve got a fever. No, a real one. I know this because the thermometer just told me so. But coincidentally, I also have a fever for more cowbell/endless releases from Orange Milk Records, and the newest promotion from the Ohio-borne imprint (run by Seth Graham and Keith Rankin a.k.a. Giant Claw) is the sophomore effort from an artist whose music fits snugly into Orange Milk’s polygonal gap.

W00dy to release new album "My Diary" next month

A couple days ago, I found out that one of my favorite artists — the Pittsburgh-based, TMT-fave, absurdist-dancefloor-producer extraordinaire W00dy — has a new album coming out.

When I found out this news, I was at work, checking my email during a break, where a new message awaited, the subject line innocently hanging there for me to read: “W00dy releases next album My Diary 9/3.”

Electronic duo Pelada announce debut album on PAN, consider all kinds of movements

Despite what you might think, the recent impulse to get politically involved isn’t just an American response to the systematic shattering of norms by the executive branch. People around the world have been spurned to protest by various events over the past few years; and certainly, Eastern Canada isn’t immune to the issues that have arrived preeminently like a mysterious odor infiltrating one’s apartment.

Ambient kingpin Chihei Hatakeyama walks up the Forgotten Hill, comes right back down with new album on Room40

Prolific Japanese ambient composer and White Paddy Mountain label boss Chihei Hatakeyama is back with Forgotten Hill, his latest full-length. The record is out September 20 via Room40, and features nine “sonic impressions” inspired by a journey to the burial mounds and Buddhist artifacts of Japan’s Asuka region.

The Deontic Miracle Selections from 100 Models of Hegikan Roku

[Empty Editions/Blank Forms; 2019]

Styles: drone, experimental, ambient
Others: La Monte Young, John Cage

The fact that we can even listen to Selections from 100 Models of Hegikan Roku would seem like a betrayal of Catherine Christer Hennix’s artistic vision. The Swedish-born majordomo fronting the Deontic Miracle demands of her music both speakers and a venue that can accommodate radical fluctuations in frequency and intensity. The space informs the quality of the music as much as the performer, she maintains. Museums, as well as her own home, are ideal locales for her performances, despite whatever physical limitations lie therein.

Let’s face it, there are about 3 kinds of people who will openly admit to liking “guitar music.” One is dads who wear ill-fitting t-shirts and miss the good ol’ days (‘66–’79); another is college radio punks who wear ill-fitting t-shirts and miss the good ol’ days (‘88–’01); and the third is the type of people who are freaking out right now because Mary Halvorson (Code Girl) and John Dieterich (Deerhoo

Sleep is both the most refreshing and distressing of pastimes. There are few better feelings than sliding into air-conditioned sheets after a long day, yet transitioning into unconsciousness can feel impossible when anxiety is present. Why is it so difficult to avoid the pantry when you’re slightly hungry, but so easy to lay awake and exhausted in a cloud of self-reflection?
