Greetings, my fellow Apostles of Doom Metal:
Are you having a nice anti-summer? Hope you’re staying nice and vitamin D deficient. How are your homemade overdrive circuits coming?

Charli XCX names album after herself, goes on tour with herself
Remember earlier this month when TMT-favorite and “literally the best popstar” Charli XCX told us she had a MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT coming later this month?
Well, angels, it’s later this month!
And this one’s for you. The first proper album since 2014’s Sucker has a name!

Megan Thee Stallion Fever
Styles: that Southern shit
Others: Trina, Three 6 Mafia, Da Brat
We need to first give props to Three 6 Mafia. The type of club anthems so evident on Megan Thee Stallion’s Fever seem to come straight from the Memphis institution, the album acting like a monument to the unhinged 4 AM music solidified in Southern black culture. But she doesn’t merely ape Crunchy Black, Juicy J, and co (Juicy cameo notwithstanding). Rather, there’s an unhinged power in Megan’s forceful rapping about feminine authority, and it’s in part what makes Fever so enthralling.

Here’s your damn Frank Ocean content, you vultures
Look, TMT knows how much people love Frank Ocean. Remember that several year period where we all scrounged around for every little morsel of a hint about what ended up becoming Endless and Blonde?

DJ Lag & Okzharp espouse the benefits of cleansing your pores, announce new Steam Rooms EP on Hyperdub
Steam rooms have a variety of innocent and not-so-innocent connotations today, but how many of you non-South Africans associate such an establishment with your run-of-the-mill dance club?
Radiohead were hacked, release OK Computer MiniDisc sessions to aid Extinction Rebellion
You might’ve caught wind of last week’s gigantic leak of rough demos, unreleased music, and more from Radiohead’s OK Computer sessions. Maybe you even listened to some of it, in which case you unfortunately subjected yourself to a bunch of alternate versions of “I Promise” and “Paranoid Android.” Well, turns out the leak is due to some fucker someone stealing Thom’s MiniDiscs from the sessions and then reportedly demanding a cute ransom of $150,000.

RIP: Bushwick Bill of Southern rap pioneers Geto Boys
Bushwick Bill, a member of Geto Boys alongside Scarface and Willie D, has died at 52. From Bushwick Bill’s publicist:
Bushwick Bill passed away peacefully this evening at 9:35 p.m. He was surrounded by his immediate family. There were incorrect previous reports that he had passed away this morning. We are looking into doing a public memorial at a later date. His family appreciates all of the prayers and support and are asking for privacy at this time.
