Brian Eno's Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks to get extended edition reissue next month

Anyone in the mood for a moon landing do-over? Something tells me that a 21st century version of NASA’s Apollo missions might place on emphasis on visual documentation in hi-def, because god knows relegated sects of American society have read a ridiculous amount into the grainy television footage from back in the day. Some say that a barely visible campsite is possible evidence of Marvin the Martian having taken up refugee status, while the less conspiracy-minded among us are content simply to experience (or re-experience) the awe that’s essentially inherent in humanity’s first lunar venture.

DJ Haram is involved in many Good and Holy things. For one, she’s half of 700 Bliss alongside rapper and poet Moor Mother. For another, she’s a longtime Discwoman affiliate, playing killer DJ sets in Philly’s underground intersections.

♫♪  Charli XCX - “Blame It On Your Love” [ft. Lizzo]

One of the best tracks off Charli’s Pop 2 mixtape (our fourth favorite release of 2018) is its tasty closer, “Track 10.” But HEY LISTEN: did you know it was actually a remix of a then-unreleased song, “Blame It On Your Love”? Well, ya do now if you didn’t, because today sees the release of the “original” song, with Charli once again hooking up with production team Stargate (+ additional help from A. G.

Seems sooooo long ago, but in October of 2018, Julia Holter released Aviary. Obviously, it is an album that we love here at TMT. It received a rave EUREKA! review upon its release, and landed at number 12 on our year-end list of the 50 best releases.

Rip Hayman Dreams of India & China

[Recital; 2019]

Styles: voice, flute, piano, organ, ensembles, orchestra, ocarinas, tape, electronics, bells, percussion, telephones, toys, words, dance, theater, kites, horses, sleep, the blind, dry ice, film, video, fire
Others: earthy and ethereal

And instead of asking, who played that flute, might we ask whose footsteps stirred the dust of the corridors near there, that room, now empty, where the piano still quivers, still, and still harboring echoes of those exercises that lingered thick leisure of the everyday? But, no longer day, is that not to ask, nor ever, for whom, then, are you playing? For whom, then, or now, are these memories meant to return?

Or, no longer memories, merely dreams? Or, of softness, or, dreaming, of light?

♫♪  Seth Graham - “Pierre / Ruby” (ft. More Eaze)

At first I was confused. Is my right headphone broken? Could it have cracked in my backpack as my wife and I travelled from our friends’ house to my sister’s house yesterday? No, I used it after that. Weird. Maybe it’s just the song, let’s wait it out. Wait it out I did and what ensued prompted me to write my first TMT piece in months (please forgive me, TMT Gods, I will improve).
